Impressions of the Celebratory Event

The public Celebratory Event took place on November 12 2019. After greetings by among other president of the Goethe University Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolf, minister of state Angela Dorn, and chairwoman of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Soziologie Prof. Dr. Birgit Blättel-Mink, two podiums staffed with experts discussed sociological issues and questions. While the first podium addressed the tradition of the Frankfurt School in past and present, the the second podium debated current sociological debates and controversies. Another highlight of the Celebratory Event was the keynote speech given by Prof. Dr. Saskia Sassen (Columbia University) on the radical socio-economic changes in metropolis.
